What a horrible tale.
In a terrifying story out of Florida, on July 1 a Lyft driver named Peter Solomon abducted and then raped a woman he picked up from a bar.

According to the victim, Peter took her to a decrepit house instead of her residence just a few miles away. To the woman’s horror, there were two other men waiting inside.
While it’s not clear if the other men were involved in the rape, authorities allege Solomon dragged the woman into a bedroom as she tried to escape and then threatened her life if she resisted the assault.
In a smart move, the victim was able to covertly dial 911 during the attack and luckily the police were able to trace her call.
Following the assault, Peter made the woman get back into the car and while he was driving around she dialed 911 again.
Sergeant Tammi Edwards of the Orlando Police department explained:
“She was talking out loud like she was having a normal conversation with the driver, and she was able to give landmarks.”
Wow, what a smart cookie! We’re glad the brave woman was able to assist authorities in finding her.
After excruciating hours of torture, Solomon finally dropped the woman off in a suburb. The terrified victim immediately called her mother who then picked her up.
Ms. Edwards went on to praise the woman’s quick thinking, saying:
“She has been a very strong victim from the beginning, up until now. She knew where she started. She knew where she wanted to go, and he took a different path.”
Well said.
